Larick Campsite is a community run campsite set on the mouth of the River Tay next to the northern entrance of Tentsmuir Forest in Fife. The campsite is a brand new 32 pitch site (includes 2 accessible pitches) with a new utility building consisting of showers, toilets, Laundry, drying room, and dishwashing room. Next to the campsite there is a new community building with café facilities and community halls.
The site is next to numerous walks, nature reserves, cycle path and the 13th oldest golf course Scotscraig, it is also walking distance from the beach, forest, town centre and the harbour. Dundee and St Andrews is a short drive or bus journey where there are many tourist attractions.
Job Vacancy: Warden/s (Seasonal)
Tayport Community Enterprises Ltd are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and customer orientated person or couple to take the role of Campsite Warden/s at our brand new 32 pitch Larick Campsite
This is an exciting customer facing role where you will have the opportunity to develop this new campsite business. The main focus will be on providing excellent customer service, with opportunities to work with the rest of the Larick Centre team to actively promote the campsite and the centre.
The individual/s will need to be prepared to work flexible hours (including weekends and to be on call), carry out day to day duties, manage the booking system, website and social media.
This position would be suitable for an active, motivated individual or couple (sharing the working hours), with campervan/caravan.
Key Responsibilities
• Dealing with telephone enquiries and taking guest bookings, processing online bookings, general office admin. Computer experience is an advantage
• Covering the checking-in of guests
• Assisting with the upkeep of grounds and facilities, including grass cutting and maintaining flower beds, providing general maintenance and ensuring a high standard of cleanliness across the site
• Cleaning the shower block and other guest facilities (drying room, washing room, etc.)
• Noise pollution and site security
• Any other duties
Excellent people skills are a must! Wardens must be friendly and approachable and enjoy working with the public. A can-do, practical and problem-solving attitude is essential. Previous experience in this type of work is not strictly necessary, but advantageous, and a knowledge of camping and caravanning is a massive bonus.
Available with the position
• A grass pitch with electric hook-up for one mobile home/caravan, including, hot showers, free use of washing machine/campsite facilities and free WIFI, is included with the role
• Campsite Mobile phone and laptop
• Applicants with pets OK
• You will have a day off together in the week (possibly 2 days a week in the quieter months), these will be Tuesday and/or Wednesdays
• Minimum 40 hours a week with this increasing during the summer holidays (July/August)
• Very competitive salary
• Start date 24th May 2021 to end of October 2021 with a possibility of extension
