Birchwood Tourist Park is situated 2.25 miles north of Wareham railway station, in the County of Dorset and it adjoins Wareham Forest. The Park is for touring caravans/tents/motorcaravans and is set in about 50 acres.

Job Vacancy: Assistant Warden

We are looking for assistant wardens to join our existing team to assist in the running of our family run touring park with a start date as soon as possible. The proposed finish date will be around late September/October 2014.

The warden duties include the following :-

1/. Cleaning of the amenity blocks, shop and other areas.

2/. General duties in running of reception and shop – includes general administration for bookings/enquiries, Check ins, telephone answering, dealing with queries, filing and other office based duties. Shop work includes pricing stock, stock control and till work.
(Ideally candidates will have computer experience, especially with booking systems.)

3/. On visitors checking in, welcoming customers to pitch, and siting them.

4/. A full ‘clean’ driving licence is required, and basic DIY skills for siting stored touring caravans and general maintenance work, including groundwork.

5/. Any other general duties necessary for the smooth running of the Park which will include maintenance , electric trips , gas deliveries , safety checks, regular patrols and any other reasonable duties.

Both positions will require evening, weekend and bank holiday working.

Working generally up to 5 days a week, and up to 40 hours per week, possibly increasing up to 48 hours in the peak season.

Position is for 2 persons

Hours worked to include Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Hours: Minimum 20 hours per person

Extra hours maybe available from time to time with Caravan Cleaning/ Gardening/General Maintenance depending on applicant and at busy times. From time to time you may be asked to carry out other duties on the Park and/or work extra hours to cover holiday/ sickness etc.


Position is for 2 persons to help clean our excellent toilet/shower/laundrette/dishwashing facility centres and other recreational/ working areas in an excellent standard of cleanliness.
• General maintenance, ground maintenance work, grass cutting, strimming, planting, hedge trimming and general gardening works, bin emptying, litter collection etc.

• Liaising with the public and customers ensuring a pleasant stay.

• Changing linen in the cottages, and also carrying out changeovers, which includes checking inventory in cottages, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming throughout.

Not essential, but an advantage: Reception duties, telephone, processing bookings, meeting and greeting, general daily paperwork, booking in customers etc. IT skills

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, working mornings and evenings, and the bulk of the hours worked will be on these days.

Mornings: cleaning, sweeping, tidying of facilities, and general areas

Evenings: early evening check/clean of facilities, and general areas, welcoming guests, helping to site pitches

Free Pitch for own Touring caravan/Motor caravan including electric, wi-fi, use of washing machine.

Seasonal Assistant Warden couple required to join our team on a 160 pitch Touring Park in the New Forest National Park.

Job role includes:-
- Reception work, working with a computerised booking system, answering telephone & email enquiries & taking bookings. Our reception includes a small park shop where you will be expected to serve customers and carry out stock rotation and stocking activities. Good computer literacy and people skills are essential, but previous experience of computerised booking systems is not essential as full training will be given. You will both be required to be in reception independently.

- Daily cleaning of shower/toilet/laundry blocks, areas around these blocks and bin points. Applicants must have a high standard of cleanliness and attention to detail and appreciate the vital importance of this aspect of the role.

- Outdoor work including pitching customers, dealing with late arrivals, Health & Safety checks, toilet & late night noise/nuisance/fire checks.

- Gardening and grounds maintenance, including planting and maintaining flower boxes and other areas of planting and pruning and cutting back round lakes and other areas.

You will need a friendly disposition and enjoy working with the general public. Flexibility is key in this job role & a sense of humour is also required. You will need to be able to work independently, and will be required to do all aspects of this roll on your own at times.

Hours will be 35 per week (including evening on-call and assistance in our bar in the evenings in peak season). This will increase during busy periods and high season, and decrease to 20 hours in October. You will be expected to work all weekends & bank holidays & be able to cope with the physically demanding aspect of the role which is very hectic during peak season.

This position will be from April 1st until November 2nd 2014. You will have 2 days off per week, Tuesday and Wednesday initially, but this will change in peak season.

Experience of campsite work is preferred but not vital as training will be given.

We are a family run Touring Caravan and Campsite on a working farm that welcomes families and dogs. We are close to the Jurassic coast and only ½ mile from the village of Corfe Castle with plenty to see and do in the local area.

Position starting April 2014 ending Mid-September 2014; you will need to have your own Caravan or Motorhome.

Jobs will include -

Warden Duties: Morning and evening facilities checks, morning ticket checks and greeting late arrivals.
Cleaning : Full cleaning of the shower/toilet/laundry block. Applicants must have a high standard of cleanliness and attention to detail.
Maintenance: to include grass cutting, strimming, bin swapping and odd jobs.

Hours vary and will increase dramatically during busy periods and high season, but will be over 5 days in mid season, and over 6 days in peak season

You will be given a pitch with electric hook up and use of the facilities and laundry (gas not included) and free wifi. Hours will be approximately 12 hours in mid season, rising to approx. 25 hours in peak season.
