Long Meadow Campsite is perfectly located within the heart of the New Forest, yet within walking distance to the shops, pubs and restaurants of the quaint village of Brockenhurst, where ponies and donkeys still roam the streets. A short drive away and Lyndhurst, the capital of the forest has many more facilities, while the beaches of the Solent are also nearby.
Based at New Park, a 250 acre estate, Longmeadow Campsite is a small, friendly and relaxed campsite.
The site was opened in 2010 and following two successful years underwent a full refurbishment in 2012 with the building of a new toilet, shower and office block, instalment of 18 hard standing caravan pitches and a new layout of the grass pitches.
Job Vacancy: Assistant Warden
We are currently seeking to recruit a couple to act as assistant wardens. The successful candidate will work two mid-week days and nights a week to cover the head wardens (couple) time off and a further 10 hours throughout the week. Their role will oversee both the outdoor site management and a small reception office. The role is seasonal running from the 24th March – 1st November.
The role includes
Manning the reception throughout the day, taking phone enquiries and bookings, inputing bookings onto computer system, welcoming new arrivals, responding to their enquires and showing them to their pitch.
Toilet and Shower Block:
Keeping the block clean and tidy, maintaining stock levels, notifying the estate office of any damages of fixtures and fittings.
Cutting and strimming of the grass, Keeping the site generally clean and any general maintenance that may arise.
Maintaining a friendly site, responding to queries and helping customers, any other relevant job that arise throughout the season.
The successful candidates will be computer literate have basic maintenance and good customer service skills. Prior experience is essential as is good communication skills.
Longmeadow Campsite is a friendly campsite and the job is a really enjoyable position. The role is supported by an office based team who oversee the running of New Park. The wardens will be provided with an electric hard standing pitch for the season but will need to bring their own caravan / motorhome.
We are looking for a couple who are fit enough to undertake the outdoor roles and have enough computer knowledge to take the bookings throughout the season.
