A Warden couple are required at this busy riverside Holiday Caravan Park. The Wardens will be required to work in all aspects of the Park operations.

To work as part of the team under the Park Managers, a significant level of responsibility ensuring day off/ holiday cover for the Managers. An ability to work well with others and at all times have good customer communication skills.

Tasks to include all aspects required in the smooth operation of the Park. From grounds maintenance and caravan siting to office and sales cover. Working alongside and with the grounds team, cleaning team or bar staff.

Ideally the couple will have experience of working in the industry but this is not essential. A good attitude to work and a fair level of fitness is needed.

The accomodation is a twin unit based near the centre of the Park.

The accomodation and all reasonable utilty bills form part of the salary package.

We are a family run business with a full time Warden and several casual employees who come in as and when they are needed for the changeover in our self-catering Cottages and Barns. We need a couple (live in) to help us run the business.
This would entail an early start to the day ensuring that all the facilities are acceptable for the visitors and checking thing over at various times during the day.
We are offering you accommodation in a Static Caravan whilst you are employed with us. In exchange for this accommodation we would ask you, on weekends, to be on the rota overseeing the smooth running of the site. This would entail having electricity tokens available for visitors, changing wheelie bins, safety checks (play parks, toilets,etc) , toilet checks, pitching some touring caravans and tents, litter pick, lock up laundry room, showers and games room at night.
Also, we would offer you, on weekdays, 50+ hours (to share) employment at £7.50. Per hour. You will be made aware of site layout regarding trip switches, fuse boards, stop taps, drainage points, manhole covers etc. so that you will be able to attend to any problems 50+ hours would be employed doing (as and when) ground maintenance such as gardening, mowing, strimming, clearing paths etc. Cleaning toilets, showers and other facilities you will be asked to do a “second clean” when needed during busy times, and safety checks of Play Park and toilets.
Friday (and some Mondays) Help with accommodation changeover.

Shop onsite: selling essential groceries and camping equipment, freshly baked bread, tray bakes and pastries , The shop is also the reception area and office for booking Electric hook ups on site pitches etc. Answering the phone and emails daily.
The site: requires a lot of ongoing maintenance during the season anything from mowing the grass, fencing, cleaning toilets and showers, filling pot hole in track, fixing any problems that occur during the day to day running of the site, changing water filters and general cleanliness of site
The toilet and shower block: this needs attention all through the day to maintain high standards of cleanliness which reflects the nightly rate the campers pay.
Skills ideally required for all these roles are:
Knowledge of:
• Building and plumbing, borehole water supplies and water filter systems.
• Using equipment like ride on mower, Strimmer, Mitre saw etc.
• Knowledge of Health and safety at work and completing risk assessments
• Retail experience using touch screen till and EPOS System.

Timing and Commitment
The job will start in April before the Easter break and will finish in early October
Weekends, weddings and holiday periods will be our busiest times, during the week we expect to be quieter
Hours will vary from between 20 to 40 hours per week depending on bookings

Responsibilities
Provide a check in and out service for guests
o Demonstrate to guests how to operate the facilities (en-suite, stove, BBQ and heat lamps) on arrival
Changeover duties
o Brush down outside of the canvas cottage
o Change linens after each stay
o Check and clean the BBQ, dinnerware and cookware
o Empty the composting toilet bags into the waste bins on site
o Clean the canvas cottages and the en-suite facilities
o Clean out the wood burning stove
o Replenish all consumables before each stay
o Replace the logs used
o Take all linens to the castle to be washed
Warden and security duties
o Monitoring the CCTV
o Ensuring guests are not disturbed by the general public
o Be on the premises for any deliveries or pick-ups such as the composting waste
General site maintenance duties
o Grass cutting and litter picking
o Replacing bulbs and checking solar panels

We would like the couple to live on-site either in the static caravan provided or in their own caravan should it be in keeping with the estate grounds.

One of you will be mainly office based using the computerised booking system and everything entailed in running a busy park office. The other will be mainly working outside with the other grounds maintenance staff which will involve streaming, mowing and general site maintenance to keep this park up to a very high standard. You will also be involved in showing customers to their pitches and generally being helpful. You will be fit and enthusiastic and willing to help colleagues and visitors with a cheerful smile whatever the weather. It is important that you understand that due to the nature of the business, hours may vary but in general you will work a minimum of 25 hours per week each rising to 35-40 during busy periods. We do require you to be flexible in the hours as circumstances dictate. Start date is flexible but early March and continue through to the end of September. We pay above the industry standard and two consecutive days off together each week but these will not be at weekends. Working on a busy park can be fun and days never drag but you need to understand this is a lifestyle change and it is essential that you are cheerful, energetic and a good team player. We will do our best to ensure you enjoy living and working in West Dorset.

A hardstanding pitch with very generous electricity allowance is included and a free laundry wash per week, free wifi. There is the possibility that other accommodation could be provided.

We are looking for a hardworking, friendly, enthusiastic warden couple in good health to help assist with the running of the park over the busy 2017 summer season, from early March through to the end of October. Experience preferred but not essential.

Reception duties: Taking bookings through online platforms and by telephone, answering all customer enquiries, welcoming guests and checking in on a computer system, placing orders and running the small on-site shop, cash-handling and general administration and giving tourist information of the local area. You will need to have a high level of customer service and be able to deal with any issues quickly and professionally, be computer literate and willing to take on any further duties required.

Outdoor duties: Welcoming guests and escorting them to their pitch, moving caravans onto pitch, looking after the hire caravans and cleaning of wigwams, overseeing product stock levels, gas deliveries and maintaining the park's high standards. The position is varied as wardens, it also require cleaning the shower blocks and shifts in the shop with basic cooking. The position will be shared with another warden couple and will be 3/4 days on and off through the season apart from more cover in the busy school holidays. We provide you with a free pitch, electric, Wi-Fi and use of washing machine and tumble dryer (free living) with winter storage if required.
Specifically the roll will include providing informative welcomes to the site, reception duties, providing knowledge of the local area and being the main point of contact on site when the reception is closed along with taking bookings over the phone with some IT skills necessary. We are looking for a couple with excellent cleaning standards who can maintain the two site shower blocks. The couple can also increase income through the shop/takeaway with cooking on grill plates providing breakfast and evening take way open during the season. During the busy main summer period there will also be a few additional duties like gate opening, site checks and helping with events like story telling. Through the quieter times of the season there will plenty of time each week to get out and about and see the wonderful sites of Cornwall.

Ground maintenance roll:
Showing guests to pitches and accommodation and dealing with any issues quickly and professionally, general park and accommodation maintenance which could include refurbishments and accommodation construction, unblocking drains, working at height or in confined spaces, daily hot tub maintenance, cutting the grass using a ride on mower, hedge cutting, general ground maintenance which may include heavy lifting, moving caravans in and out of the storage area and parking customers caravan on arrival, refuge collections and recycling, helping maintain toilet blocks in cleaners absence, deal with any jobs that arise in a professional manner.

Reception roll:
You will be operating our computerised booking system, dealing with telephone inquiries, emails and reservations, checking guests in, respond to inquiries and give general tourist information, help with laundry and ironing when the cleaners are busy, serving restocking and keeping clean our small onsite store. other jobs as they arise. You will need to be people-friendly and enthusiastic.

Holiday cover:
To cover other wardens holidays you will be required to be on duty in the the evening, dealing with any onsite issues, looking out for and pitching late arrivals and answering any out of hours calls.

Although previous experience on a camping & caravan park is not essential relevant experience in the duties of the positions are. A willingness to learn, enthusiasm and a sense of humor are important, Must be fit active flexible and motivated with a positive attitude to comfortably fit in with our existing team and be prepared to work varied hours during the year (long days in summer and shorter days in winter) Both applicants must have a full driving licence.


The shift pattern is initially 4 on 4 off(possible 8 day shifts to cover holidays)but could change depending on the demands of the season, mainly day shifts working between 8am and 6pm you can live onsite for the duration your 4 day shift and when doing holiday cover. the position would ideally suit a couple who live within an hour or 2 drive of the park.
