Folly Farm is a family owned, medium sized campsite situated in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty in the Cotswolds. It is a rural site in a stunning setting . The facilities are basic and include a toilet and shower block, dish washing area, chemical disposal point, 32 EHU's and a maximum of 50 pitches. There is a communal hut with a freezer/fridge and re-charging points.

We are 2.5 miles from Bourton on the Water, 4 miles from Stow on the Wold and 12 miles from Cheltenham. The site is very popular with walkers and cyclists; it is a 15 minute walk across fields to the nearest pub in Cold Aston and for those wanting to venture further there are miles of walks and villages to be discovered. We also have a number of visitors who use us as a base to visit Oxford, Stratford Upon Avon and Bath.

Job Vacancy: Manager Couple

This job would suit a semi retired couple who are looking for a lifestyle opportunity to run our family owned campsite in the heart of the Cotswolds. The couple will need to have their own tourer or motor home and be happy to come to live and work at our campsite for the 2016 season, starting from the end of March to mid October.

We are looking for a couple to take sole responsibility for running the site. This includes taking the bookings, meeting and greeting the customers, dealing with any customer problems, grass cutting and cleaning. The job would suit a couple with good customer service skills and they will need to be fit and enthusiastic as during peak times the site is very busy.

The couple will need to be comfortable working with a computer and running the campsite admin. As they will be responsible for running all aspects of the site there is a reasonable amount of admin and site planning to keep things running smoothly. A full clean driving licence is also needed.

Experience of working on a campsite would be helpful but is not essential. A keen interest in camping/caravanning is essential.

Camping in the Forest are looking to recruit Site Assistants for the 2016 season to work on their campsites. The role of Site Assistant is varied and includes a wide range of duties from greeting customers as they arrive and checking them in, daily Health and Safety checks across the site, cleaning the toilet and shower blocks, using the reservations system and assisting with maintaining the site.

Previous experience of working on a campsite is not essential but you will need to be energetic, physically active and have a can do attitude. You will need to be happy to work outdoors whatever the weather, have good customer service skills, be computer literate and be flexible with your hours and days of work.

Contracts will be available from April 2016 through to September 2016.

Job Vacancy: Assistant Wardens

We are currently recruiting two assistant wardens for 2016 to join our team of outstanding staff. One of you will be mainly office based using the computerised booking system and everything entailed in running a busy park office. The other will be mainly working outside with the other grounds maintenance staff which will involve strimming, mowing and general site maintenance to keep this park up to a very high standard. You will also be involved in showing customers to their pitches and generally being helpful.
You will be fit and enthusiastic and willing to help colleagues and visitors with a cheerful smile whatever the weather. In low season there will be some shower block cleaning but in mid and high season other cleaners are employed.
It is important that you understand that due to the nature of the business, hours may vary but in general you will work a minimum of 16 hours per week each rising to 32 hours per week each. We do require you to be flexible in the hours as circumstances dictate and you may find in high season a further 2/3 hours per week would be helpful to us all.
You will have the on call telephone for some nights each week to assist with any blue light emergencies once the main gate is automatically locked each night. One these nights you will also make a quick check of the park mid evening.
We would like you to start at the beginning of April and continue through to the end of September. We pay above the industry standard and include a free pitch with a generous electricity allowance, two free laundry washes per week, free wifi and two consecutive days off together each week but these will not be at weekends.
Working on a busy park can be fun and days never drag but you need to understand this is a lifestyle change and it is essential that you are cheerful, energetic, fit and a good team player.
Many of our current staff have been with us from between 6 - 23 years and we will do our best to ensure you enjoy living and working in West Dorset.

Job Vacancy: Caravan Park Warden Couple for 2016 season

Following the retirement of our existing wardens, a couple are required for the 2016 season to work with us in providing a first class caravanning experience for everyone who visits our park. Experience is not essential but you do need to have a smile for everyone, a hard work ethic, enthusiasm, great sense of humour, excellent customer service skills, discretion, tact and diplomacy.

You’ll have basic DIY skills and be friendly, fit, outgoing and have the ability to work under your own initiative and also as part of our small team.

Our season runs from 1st March – 1st November with duties to include:-
Cleaning our three amenity blocks to a very high standard.
Park and ground works to include grass cutting using both ride on and hand mowers, strimming, pruning, weed control and cleaning and maintenance of park equipment and ancillary buildings.
Checking guests in using our computerised booking system and pitching them or showing them to their pitch.
Pitching and movement of caravans into and out of our storage compound.
Evening duties during school/Bank holidays to cover checking amenity blocks and ensuring 10pm quiet time is adhered to.
Cover for owner’s time off (one full day per week plus some evenings which need to be flexible).

Hours generally (out of school holidays) 9.30am – 5pm and up to 8pm on Friday.
