Job Vacancy: Seasonal Wardens 2018

Flower of May Holiday Parks Limited are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working and practical couple with a passion for customer service to join our team as Seasonal Park Wardens at Riverside Meadows Country Caravan Park, Ripon for the 2018 season.

You will be mainly responsible for assisting the Park Managers with the day-to-day smooth running of the Park together with general maintenance and cleaning within the Holiday Park, reporting to Company Directors and Park Management.

Duties may include: -

• Reception and Shop duties
• Dealing with general customer and sales
enquiries
• Groundwork and gardening together with
general maintenance and repairs
• Siting of sales vans
• Ensuring that a high standard of
cleanliness of facilities is achieved and
maintained
• Gas bottle exchange
• Litter picking and bin rotation
• Maintenance of hire fleet
• Unpacking and cleaning of sales vans
• Toilet & Shower block cleaning
• Regular inspections of Toilet & Shower
blocks
• Evenings on call
• Late night park inspection
• Supervision of staff on Manager’s day off

Please note this is a list of the main tasks to be carried out in the role of Wardens but it is not exhaustive.

These are practical and hands-on roles, consistently delivering a high standard of customer service.

These are seasonal positions. The working week is six days out of seven to include evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays. Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the business. Evenings on call on rotation with Park Managers. Due to the nature of the business, holidays are not permitted during the season.

Accommodation is provided together with utilities as part of the package.

There is the opportunity to earn a performance related bonus payable upon completion of the season.

Job Vacancy: Grounds and Park Assistant

We are looking for a Grounds and Park Assistant to join the team at Riverside Country Caravan Park and help to maintain the high standard of the grounds and cleanliness of facilities on the park.

The ideal candidate should have previous experience grass-cutting using ride-on mowers and strimming and also display general maintenance skills.

Main duties to include: -

Grass-cutting and strimming
General park maintenance
Assisting in siting of static caravans
Litter picking
Cleaning of toilet blocks

Hours may include weekends and Bank Holidays with successful candidate being flexible with regard to working hours.

A hourly rate is offered together with the provision of a touring pitch.

The position is for an immediate start and runs from May to September.

A full UK drivers license is required.

We are seeking an experienced gardener with excellent gardening knowledge and minor property maintenance (basic joinery & plumbing) experience for a permanent and live-in position. The job is for one person but a couple would be welcome in the large, modern two bedroom lodge provided.

Main duties are garden maintenance (30 acres) and minor caravan repairs as well as customer care.
Attention to detail and good record keeping are vital.

Out of hours care of the park on a regular basis is required (these evening ‘customer care’ duties are shared between the successful applicant and the Senior Warden).

Qualifications and/or excellent references must be available. The successful candidate must use their own vehicle for work (mileage paid).

Salary £22,000 - £25,000. Full time position, 2 days off weekly.

Experienced landscape gardening knowledge

Duties include:-

- Reception work, working with a computerised booking system, answering telephone and email enquiries and taking bookings. Previous experience on all these aspects is required. Applicants should be competent with a previous booking system and computer literate.

- Outdoor work, including pitching customers, dealing with late arrivals, Health and Safety checks, touring block checks, and late night noise/nuisance monitoring.

- Site/Grounds maintenance, including grass cutting, strimming, aiding caravan movements, bin runs and odd jobs.

You should be people who enjoy working with the general public. Flexibility is key in this job role, previous experience and a sense of humour are also required!

Hours will vary and increase during busy periods and high season. You will be expected to work all weekends and bank holidays and be able to cope with the physically demanding aspect of the role, good physical fitness is important.

This position will provide a minimum of 40 hours weekly per person.

Job Vacancy: Assistant Warden

The job description:

You need to be computer literate, updating and keeping track of an on-line booking system. Answering the phone and replying to messages and emails (training given).

Organising pitches and hook-ups for incoming caravans or motor homes and greet new arrivals, showing them to their pitch, occasionally adding more electric units if required.

Communicate with the regular customers, collecting pitch fees and reloading electric meter cards.

Keep the site tidy, checking bins and recycling, putting bins out for collection, checking cesspit level.

A basic understanding of the electrical supply, enough to be able to reset a trip switch.

Hand mowing, ride on leaf and twig collector and possibly some remuneration if you are confident with a large ride on mower.

Very approximately 7 hours work a week

Your skills will include:

A very practical commonsense approach, able to communicate well with visitors

Enjoy meeting new people and have a friendly attitude

An organised and tidy approach

Honesty and integrity

You will need to supply at least two references.

I will be available most of the time on site and hours can be very flexible depending on arrival times.
