Job Vacancy: Maintenance/Operations Supervisor

We are a small family business looking for a Full Time Maintenance/Operations Supervisor for our holiday parks in the South West of Scotland.
The candidate will report to the Directors and will manage the parks maintenance and grounds team to ensure standards are maintained and health and safety requirements are adhered to.
The position incorporates a variety of jobs including the following:
• Assisting and organising the parks development work including buildings and pitches
• Co-ordinating maintenance work and personnel between our four holiday parks
• Ensuring maintenance jobs reported to Reception are addressed in a professional and timely manner
• Sourcing keen prices and placing orders with suppliers
• Arranging and liaising works with contractors
• Liaising with customers in handling and resolving maintenance issues to their holiday homes
• Co-ordinating the disconnection, moving and siting of static caravans on the parks
• Managing personnel to carry out their duties
• Ensuring all staff have carried out the necessary procedures and checks for the health and safety of staff and customers

The candidate needs to be hands on/practical, self-motivated, organised and prepared to undertake tasks to contribute towards the successful operation of the Parks. You need to have a good eye for detail and ideally working knowledge of electrical and plumbing with experience in managing people.

There will be administration and record keeping; therefore computer skills are necessary. Due to the nature of the job, you must be adaptable and flexible with your hours as this role will include some weekend work.

Night Warden required

Must me of very smart appearance as will be 1st point of contact for guests.

To show late arrivals to accommodation and caravan pitches, to deal with any guest enquiries or issues that arise.

General DIY knowledge and customer service experience would be an advantage.

After an initial training period you will work from 6pm to 6am

POSITION 2 is open to either a couple or as two individual positions
We are looking for a receptionist and a maintenance/groundsman

The roles are

Ground maintenance roll:
Showing guests to pitches and accommodation and dealing with any issues quickly and professionally, general park and accommodation maintenance which could include refurbishments and accommodation construction, unblocking drains, working at height or in confined spaces, daily hot tub maintenance, cutting the grass using a ride on mower, hedge cutting,ground maintenance/general labouring which may include heavy lifting.
Moving caravans in and out of the storage area and parking customers caravan on arrival, refuge collections and recycling, helping maintain toilet blocks in cleaners absence, deal with any jobs that arise in a professional manner.

Reception roll:
Working with alongside the wardens and a full time receptionist
you will be operating our computerised booking system (experience in using a computer is essential) dealing with telephone inquiries, emails and reservations, checking guests in, respond to inquiries and give general tourist information, helping the cleaners when they are busy, serving restocking and keeping clean our small onsite shop and information point, other jobs as they arise. You will need to be friendly enthusiastic flexible and motivated.

Previous experience on a camping & caravan park is not essential.
A willingness to learn, enthusiasm, common sense and the ability to take instruction are important.
You both need to be fit, motivated, flexible with a positive attitude to comfortably fit in with our existing team which include a warden couple, receptionist gardener and housekeeping team.
You will work varied hours during the year (longer days in summer and shorter days in winter)

All applicants must have a full driving licence
All positions after training will work a shift pattern of 4 on 4 off subject to change as demand dictates.

These positions are not live in positions so would ideally suit people living locally.

Job Vacancy: Warden or Warden couple

We are a family run business and we are looking for either one person or a warden couple. You would need to be happy and hardworking and flexible as every day is different.A team player is important as you will be working alongside the family. Hook Farm is a very successful site and we are already very busy this year.

The main role is for a maintenance person who is fit and outgoing and has the following skills,
General DIY and maintenance skills.
Ability to use tractors and ride on mowers.
Moving of refuse bins with tractor.
Confidence in towing vehicles.
Some electrical and plumbing knowledge.

We also have an additional post if the applicants are a couple. The person would need to be outgoing and friendly. This post is mainly housekeeping, cleaning of toilet blocks and static caravans. These would need to be cleaned to a very high standard. Also help in the shop and reception. Answering the phone and taking bookings. There would also be someone outside work such as painting in low season.

The above roles are seasonal generally from early March to late November.
In low season you would be required to work 5 days a week including weekends and bank holidays. Also share the on call with the owners. In high season the work would be 6 days a week.

You would need your own motorhome or touring caravan and we provide a large secluded pitch with free water, electric, free laundry and wifi. Gas is available at trade price.

‘Oakdown’ has vacancies for two Park Wardens The vacancies are full time, working 5 days (Wednesday through to Sunday incl) in a 7 day period and are contracted seasonally on a permanent basis.

The two vacancies would suit a ‘Couple’ who can demonstrate drive, enthusiasm and dedication to their potential role.
Excellent inter personal skills are required in both roles as everyday dealings with the Guests are prominent.
The ability to work with minimum supervision and within a Team structure is mandatory.

limited Cleaning and maintenance maybe required.

Duties for Warden B:

Grass cutting using a ‘sit on mower’.
Caravan Towing (experience in this area is beneficial; a demonstration of the candidates towing skills may be required during an interview).

There will also be an element of working on the Parks in maintenance ie, mowing strimming when not siting.

It is paramount that the applicant has a full driving license and a positive attitude towards work and learning new skills. A good level of fitness will be advantageous as the job is demanding.
